Start Spreading The News: The SEC Is Officially A Basketball Conference

Look I know sometimes I can get a little troll-ish with my takes, looking for a reaction. But this is absolutely not one of those times. In the same year where we see the Vanderbilts of the world beat Alabama, and we see the 4-8 Kentuckys of the world beat Ole Miss, and we see the Arkansas of the world beat Tennessee.....it's not because of the parity in the conference. It's because the SEC doesn't have the dominant, top teams like they used to...and their "gap" on the rest of college football, if there is one, has shrunk tremendously. But on the other hand, on the hardwood, the SEC is exactly what they think they are in football: head and shoulders better than the rest of the country. They hold 3 of the AP Top 5 spots with Tennessee (#1), Auburn (#2), and Kentucky (#5), as well as holding down #7 with Alabama and #9 with undefeated Florida. But even at the bottom on the conference, where Missouri is currently 13th in the SEC rankings, they are doing things like....knocking off the previous top team in the country, Kansas. And it's gotten to the point where the SEC just won the SEC/ACC Challenge with a record of 14 wins and 2 losses. WHAT? Bottom line: the SEC is hands down the best conference in the country, ranging from their top teams that are all in contention for the National Championship to their bottom teams that can beat anyone. I mean, the worst teams in the conference are Vanderbilt (9-1) and South Carolina (6-3)....
